Great Baddow High School is a secondary school in Chelmsford, Essex, England. The ages of pupils range from 11 to 16 years old, and students in sixth form ages from 16 onwards. In September 2002, the school was awarded specialist Sports College status. The school converted to academy status in July 2011, but continues to have sport as a specialism. ==Facilities== As a specialist in sports, Great Baddow High School offers a range of varying sporting facilities. The school has a heated indoor swimming pool for sports such as swimming and water polo. The school also has three large playing fields for sports such as rugby, cricket and football. There is an indoor gymnasium which can be used for trampolining, and also has equipment such as climbing ropes and wall bars. They also have a large indoor sports hall, which is primarily used for the school's basketball teams. Great Baddow has enjoyed much sporting success since developing sport as a specialism, notably their basketball teams. In 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010 the girls basketball team won the National Schools Basketball competition, announcing them the best girls basketball team in England.
